How it works
The tool runs U²-Net, an open-source salient-object detection model, using WebAssembly in your browser. It predicts which pixels belong to the main subject and turns the rest transparent. The model (about 4.5 MB) loads once and is then cached by your browser.
Tips for the best results
The model works best when the subject is clear:
- One main subject, in focus, filling a good part of the frame
- Contrast between the subject and the background
- Good, even lighting without heavy shadows
- Fine hair and see-through objects may need touch-ups in an editor
Common uses
Product photos for Amazon, Flipkart and your own store (on a white background), profile photos, catalogue images, presentations and social media posts.
Privacy
Unlike most online background removers, nothing is uploaded to a server. The image is processed in your browser tab and disappears when you close it.
